Apple blocks untethered Corona jailbreak with iOS 5.1 beta 3

Caution sign

We have waited for some long time for a stable and reliable untethered jailbreak for iOS devices runnig iOS 5. The jailbreak was finally developed and released only recently, at the end of the last year. It has enabled a excellent untethered jailbreak for all iOS devices, with exception of devices with A5 processors such as iPad 2 tablet and the latest iPhone 4S. Sadly it seems that it didn’t take too long for Apple’s engineers to patch the exploit which enables Corona jailbreak to work. A number of jailbreak developers have confirmed that the jailbreak isn’t working anymore with the beta 3 version of iOS 5.1. Keep in mind that the same exploit is being used in the latest version of RedSn0w jailbreak, so the same thing applies for this jailbreak too.

How to waterproof your iPhone

Liquipel

You have probably heard about different experiences with iPhone damages. One of more frequent problems happening in everyday life is that some users manage to drop their favorite iOS device into bathtub, kitchen sink or some other place filled with liquid. Water and electronics don’t fit particularly well, and in most cases you will end with a defunct device. And given today’s slow economy, loosing a couple of hundred of bucks worth device like this isn’t something which will make you happy.

Interestingly, it took them only a relatively short time to attract exceptionally high number of iPhone users.

During the third quarter of the last year, more than 2 million users decided to take an Verizon iPhone with a contract, which is a number only slighlty behind AT&T’s 2.7 million iPhone users in the same period.
