Apple working on Sprint iPhone
There is an old joke which goes among journalists and publishers that goes somewhat like this: if media talks about something convincingly and long enough, it will eventually become true. And it turned out that this was on spot, at least regarding the increase of the list of carriers in US which became Apple partners. First it was only AT&T, then they were joined by Verizon and now we here about the possibility of Sprint becoming the next network carrier partnering with Apple.
Tim Cook, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer said earlier this year that the agreement between Apple and Verizon was not exclusive, meaning that they could be open for including Sprint and offering CDMA iPhones for their users.
A new rumor appeared this week in the blogosphere, implying that Sprint iPhnone is indeed in the works. After recent indications that Apple is working on the so called iPhone 4S which should be launched in September, Apple has discretely added a job listing for a new carrier engineer close to the Sprint headquarters in Kansas City. This could indicate that Apple is planning to work with Sprint for implementation of the new iPhone into their CDMA network. Interestingly enough, almost immediately after this rumor began to spread Apple has removed the job posting like they wanted to hide this. Did they change their mind or did they want to stop the rumors? We simply don’t know. So stay tuned and we will notify you as soon as we hear any interesting new or rumor on Apple, iPhone and the rest of the iOS world.
