New IMEI based unlock for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS?
Apparently something new is going on in the iPhone world. We are hearing from many different sources that some new kind of unlock is now available to iPhone users. It is supposedly a remote based unlock which works through your IMEI ( International Mobile Equipment Identity). IMEI is a number which is unique for your handset and is used by your network carrier to identify your iPhone as a valid device. It can also be used to blacklist the device if it gets stolen.
So far most of these reports have not been confirmed as safe. As you all know there are many fake websites selling ineffective and false unlock solutions and services.

sim iphone unlock review
During the last two years no significant sim unlocks were made by manufacturers available to the unlocker community. Even the manufacturers themselves concluded that the sim unlock is not attractive to most users. This is the reason why most of the analysts were confused by the recent announcement that Gevey sim has an unlock solution for iPhone 4.
The main reason Gevey did not publicize earlier their solution were quite logical as the cost of producing the sim card are initially quit high and they obviously were worried that any software unlock made by iPhone Dev team or some other group would make their product obsolete causing them significant financial loses. The exploit which Gevey uses for the unlock has its own issues.
iPhone 4 unlock for baseband 02.10.04 and 3.10.01 now possible with Sim unlock
There are two ways to unlock an iPhone. The first way being complicated and appropriate only to gadget wizards among us who play with soldering electronic devices and an much easier way which is the software unlock.
Changing the hardware in the iPhone is not only complicated, but it is also risky as you can easily damage permanently your iPhone. Besides there is another problem: you lose your warranty. The other way which is using the jailbreak and the software unlock is more known and widely used. In most cases it is completely safe, and what is great is that you don’t lose your warranty. If you need to go to Apple store, just virginize your iPhone by restoring it with original firmware and you have deleted any trace of the modification. Iphone jailbreaks include such software tools like Sn0wBreeze, Pwnage tools, RedSn0w and carrier unlock is known as UltraSn0w.
