New Apple TV screensaver

Apple is well known by superior designing capabilities and great user interfaces in their devices. And from time to time they tend to release a small but really nice feature for their products or services. Not surprisingly, this happened with their last upgrade for Apple TV too. They have added an interesting screensaver named PhotoWall. If you choose this screensaver, your Apple TV will rotate your photos in different frames sliding slowly across your TV screen. It looks quite nice, and we bet many users will agree with us.

Hulu Plus comes to Apple TV?

The app for Hulu Plus is already made and works perfectly for Apple TV. All features are working as expected and Apple has prepared everything except one important issue. It seems that now Apple is evaluating the need for this app and that some factions inside the company actually oppose the release of this app.

Apple updates their Apple TV to 4.4.1

Only a week ago Apple has released their update containing Air Play mirror capabilities. But now they have released an additional update which removes some freshly discovered bugs and adds small technical improvements. This release 4.4.1 was launched today but afterwards it was quickly removed as Apple received some troubling reports on devices completely blocked and disabled due to some unknown bug.

iOS 5 beta 3 secrets: a wireless keyboard for Apple TV?

It seems that iOS 5 b3 for Apple TV has some interesting options available. As some of you perhaps know Apple TV has an so far not activated bluetooth capable chip inside its system. Perhaps this bluetooth chip is intended to be used as a venue for connecting a wireless keyboard into your device? It seems that this bluetooth option is available in the Settings, making it possible to pair up a keyboard with your Apple TV.

Dev Team releases Pwnage Tool bundle for jailbreaking Apple TV iOS 4.2.2

Almost immediately after Apple rolled out their small update for Apple TV which is officially now 4.2.2 but unofficially considered as iOS 4.3., iPhone Dev Team has responded with an upgrade for Pwnage Tool. A prominent member of the jailbreak community and developer, Stefan Esser (aka known as 0n1c) was fast in porting his exploit for untethered jailbreak of 4.3.1 into this version of the iOS.

If you would like to update your Apple TV iOS to the new version, you will need to add this bundle into a proper folder in PwnageTool.app

Apple releases upgrade for the Apple TV iOS

Apple has released a new upgrade for their popular A4 powered Apple TV. If you decide to upgrade the firmware on your device you can do so by navigating to Settings - General – Update and afterwards just follow the instructions.

This update is improving on variety of less important issues. This upgrade is considered as a small upgrade but inside Apple it is considered as the upgrade to iOS 4.3. Here is the list of fixes which are included with this upgrade.

Apple TV 3G comming?

Apple is ready to begin shipping the already famous iPad 2 tablet on March 11th. This new tablet is so much better than anything available currently at the market that all other tablets simply fade out compared to this new Apple branded product.

Tip: Old iPod instead of Apple TV – how to stream video on standard definition TVs

It’s great to own an apple TV since you can easily stream your favorite content toward your HDMI equipped High Definition (HD) TV. But what happens if your TV belongs to the old family - TVs with composite RCA video & audio plugs? Is it possible to create something simple with some old stuff that we already have?

Of course it is AND I am not talking here about expensive equipment and components for HDMI converters which are to expensive for this purpose you will need an iphone or even better an OLD ipod.

Jailbreak for Apple TV coming soon!

We wrote previously wrote about the release of the GreenPois0n untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS iphone 4, iPod Touch and iPad with the new 4.2.1 firmware.

Although some bugs were already encountered, greenpois0n brought a great improvement in the jailbreaking area and a huge advance for all users in need of the jailbreak and unlock.

But until yet one device was still not supported. The Apple TV 2G was not yet jailbroken with GreenPois0n.
Luckily things are changing in a good direction. The group known as the Chronic Dev Team has acknowledged that they are working on a new jailbreak tool for the Apple TV. They expect to release the new version of the GreenPois0n and that it will enable untethered jailbreak for the Apple TV with 4.2.1 firmware.
