Wikileaks: Apple goes against Chinese counterfeiters

A fresh batch of infamous Wikileak cables has discovered something of interest to our readers: it seems that Apple has taken decisive action against counterfitting of Apple products in mainland China. This was discovered in cables originating in US embassy in Beijing. Officials in the embassy have sent various documents to State Department, Justice Department, Department of Commerce, Federal Biro of Investigation (FBI) and White House. One of the most important among those cables was a document known as “Fortune”.

Apple has again being busy during the last couple of days with their new cloud services. This time they have announced in a email to all developers that iTunes Match is now open for beta testing. For those of our readers which don’t know, iTunes Match is an iCloud based music library for all your songs, which will enable to enjoy in your music wherever you happen to be, around the clock on any iOS device: iPhone, iPodTouch or iPad. When you subscribe to iTunes Match, you will get three months of free usage with your annual subscription fee. If you want to start using this new service, you must install the latest beta version of iOS 5 which is by the way available to iOS developers only. You can become an official developers if you pay annual fee of $99 without any other requirement needed.

As the release date of iPhone 5 is getting closer rumors spread like a wildfire in California, many of them obviously false but some of them looking quite plausible. The picture of this iPhone testing model was posted on Engadget, and it supposedly represents an iPhone prototype codenamed N 94. The story which comes with this photo is a bit long, but essentially it says that this iPhone is the latest testing model of what will become the next iPhone model, known as iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S will be an cheaper version of iPhone 4 which will be targeted towards the enormous large Chinese and Indian market. According to some analysts this model could be launched at the same time as the iPhone 5.
