Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 4S video

iOS 5.0.1 A5 jailbreak

It looks like the long awaited, untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and probably iPad 2 is around the corner. The developer who has made the breaktrough is of course Pod2G, the same jailbreak developer which responsible for the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak for iPhone and iPad. He has just published a short video which shows iPhone 4S with a working, untethered jailbreak, and Cydia installed on iOS 5.0.1.
He said in a comment that he and his buddy @DHowett made this video. @Dhowett also happens to be a iOS jailbreak dev and a member of the famous Chronic Dev Team group.

Earlier this day, another iOS developer known under his nickname @PlanetBeing wrote in one of his twitter updates that the jailbreak for A5 devices is in progress and that he was able to run unofficial code on his iPhone 4S already.

There is no official date for release of this new jailbreak from Dev Team nor from other developer groups, but the experience with Pod2G so far shows that he always delivers on his promises. And the hint he gave in his tweet said that the new jailbreak release is only a couple of days away.

Anyway, if you did not upgrade your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S to iOS 5.0.1, we strongly recommend you to update as soon as possible. That is, if you care about the untethered jailbreak for your device. Keep in mind that this will be the first working jailbreak for this kind of devices, and Apple wont wait for too long to block this opportunity! Especially since we already know that the upcoming 5.1 firmware which is currently in the third beta version, already stops Corona jailbreak from working. If you don’t upgrade right now, the chance is you wont be able to do so at all,as Apple will probably stop signing this firmware as soon as possible. And the next jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is probably far, far away.

Here is the demo of the jailbreak.
