Timeline for Facebook on iPhone: awesome!
Latest Facebook upgrade, the so called ‘timeline’ will soon come to iPhone and it will look fabulous according to latest reports, which appeared after a press conference yesterday.
Timeline on a touch screen device looks much better than on a desktop computer. In fact, some people said it looks so great you wont want to use it on your desktop computer, instead you’ll want to use only your iPhone Facebook app. Timeline is created specifically for touch screen devices like iPhone and iPad.
Facebooks founder received advices from Steve Jobs
Mark Zuckerberg talked with and received advices from late Steve Jobs on Facebook and its future. Would you believe in a such statement, as it sounds quite incredibly?Tech news magazines and blogs are full of stories about the giants: Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft clash against each other as they fight for the heart and minds of users around the globe. It seems that despite this Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook was wise enough to take step aside and learn from one of the greatest business leaders of our times, Steve Jobs. As he revealed in a recent interview, he wasn’t afraid or ashamed to say that he had a lot of questions for Jobs. He wanted to learn from the number one about building quality and providing best services to users, which is something Apple is well known about. He also discussed about designs, aesthetics and missions of today’s large companies.
Facebook releases their official iPad app!
After many rumors, preparations and lot of tweaking Facebook has finally released their official iPad app. It looks to us that this it will retain the look and feel of the iPhone app. But what is most interesting is that the app is highly customized for tablets large touchscreen and that it offers chat and Facebook games on the iPad for the first time. It took Mark Zuckerberg and his team of engineers and designers almost a year to release their iPad app. So why did they need a full year to develop an app? Is there something more to this story, something which Facebook doesn’t want to reveal right now?
Facebook changing rapidly
Facebook is changing rapidly in order to overcome competition from Google’s latest service, Google Plus and Twitter along with some other less popular social networks. Facebook’s new concept , the ‘Timeline’ is bigger than the old concept of ‘Profile’ and includes more visual aspects. This space will now be available to every user to change at will and you’ll have to decide on the content which you put in your ‘Timeline’. You will notice at the right hand side on the top of your ‘Timeline’ a large photo. This represents your cover and you can put your preferred photos right there. When a users scrolls down he will see his content including his posts, photos and various events as they happen. A user can freely choose what to feature in his “Timeline’. Favorite content can be marked with stars or things you don’t like can be hidden.
Facebook releases upgraded version of their iOS app
Facebook has again upgraded their own Facebook app for Apple’s iOS mobile devices. This new upgrade has introduced a lot of new features like tagging of images, sharing links and a complete redesign of the “Wall” option for Groups and Profiles.
With this app you will connect far easier with your contacts and share what is new and trendy with you friends. You can use you iPhone or iPod Touch to enjoy in Facebook chat, browse your friends photo galleries or upload your own images whenever you capture them. Facebook has finally upgraded the privacy controls for status upgrades so you can choose the group which will see your posts.
Facebook soon with a music streaming service?
This week Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook announced that Facebook is working on something truly awesome and a lot of tech analysts predicted that this project could be related to music streaming services, especially since Facebook has recently partnered with Spotify. But this turned out not to be so, at least not at this particular moment.
What Facebook revealed was a new video calling feature, based on their partnership with Skype which was in turn bought by Microsoft recently. But when one coder recently downloaded the code for this, he discovered there is an option inside it, called Vibes. So it seems that Facebook still has some intentions and plans towards music sharing services, but now it is not sure will this service come in partnership with Spotify or in some other way.
Google + submitted to App Store!
Google + the latest Google product which should redeem Google’s position in social networking world now completely dominated by Facebook and Twitter has being submitted as an app to Apple’s App Store. This app is already available on the Google’s website as an web app and also in Android Market.
The news was announced by a member of Google’s team Erica Joy, who wrote this on her page. Surely this doesn’t come as a too big of surprise as the number of iPhone users in US is exceedingly high, but the pace at which Google wants to tap into the iOS market is surprising. If past experience is correct the approval process for Google + shouldn’t last longer than 10 to 15 days.
