iPhone alarms works if you have updated your iPhone iOS version

iPhone alarm clock

Many iOS users have voiced their concern and dissatisfaction with the fact that iPhone alarm didn’t sound off after the New Years eve. This bug rosed its ugly head first time last year, but it was later supposedly fixed with iOS 5 upgrade. One reason for so many people criticizing Apple about this issue could be that a number of users actually did not upgrade their iOS firmware.

Amazon prevents jailbreaking of Kindle Fire with their latest firmware upgrade

Kindle Fire

It is not only Apple that is not really happy because of users daring to jailbreak their devices. While it is completely legal and safe, if you know what you are doing, Apple, Amazon and other tablet and smartphone makers think they ought to control whatever is going on on your own device. Majority of jailbreak developers and users beg to disagree. It is the same case with the latest newcomer in tablet world: Amazon with their Android tablet, Kindle Fire. Amazon has previously announced that they wont encourage, nor prevent rooting of Kindle Fire, but it seems that they have changed their mind. The latest firmware update released by Amazon is apparently going against users who have already jailbroken their new tablets.

Apple delays release of iOS 5.0.2

ios 5.0.2 banner

Apple was expected to release iOS 5.0.2 as a sequel in the long quest to squash the pesky battery drain bug which appeared with iOS 5.0. But it seems that Apple’s engineering task force has yet again stumbled upon some unsuspecting bugs which will take more time to solve than previously expected. It seems that the mayor change which iOS 5.0 certainly was, was a rather hard nut to crack due to a bunch of completely new services iOS 5.0 includes like: iCloud, Siri, iTunes Match and others. To weave such a complex framework in a coherent and stable operative system, took Apple quite some time and a number of beta releases. But nonetheless, not everything was functioning flawlessly which was realized especially after the battery life bug rose its ugly head on iPhones runing on iOS 5.0.

iOS 5.0.2 Coming soon featuring battery bug fix and Siri upgrade

iOS 5.0.2 logo

According to latest rumors, Apple is working hard to finish the next iOS upgrade, and according to this rumor it could become available already during next week. This upgrade could finally solve the infamous battery drain issue and it could also introduce a set of new upgrades for Siri, which is now a core element of iOS for new iPhones. Siri could be used as a hardware controlling system so you could take a picture or turn on your Wi-fi connection with Siri only. If this iOS upgrade really hits the market next week, it could become one of the fastest released upgrades so far. And while this is good from the standpoint that it solves some problems, a hurried release usually includes a number previously unknown bugs. Especially so since no beta version of iOS 5.0.2 was made available to Apple developers community, which is another usual procedure for Apple.

There were also other things Apple solved with this upgrade including some security risks, bug fixes, better voice recognition, re introduction of multi touch gestures for iPad and much more.

New iTunes version 10.5 for Mac and Windows available for download

iTunes 10.5

Apple has released the latest version of their superb iTunes software, which is a requisite for all iPhone and iPad users which want to upgrade to iOS 5. Since all elements of Apple’s diverse ecosystem are tightly connected iOS 5, iTunes 10.5 and the latest iPhone 4S model have been pushed out almost at the same time. Another hallmark of this upgrade for Apple is off course the long awaited iCloud service. iCloud enables users to store their data and content and access all of it on any iOS device. It remains to be seen how will iPhone and iPad users react to this new concept. If success of Google documents, Gmail and other cloud services indicates anything, iCloud could be a full scale success for Apple, especially given their traditional strive for absolute quality and constant innovation in all areas. Another great option is the ability to upgrade and sync your device with a wireless connection.

iOS 5: backup your device before the upgrade!

backup your iPhone before upgrading iOS

Nobody knows for sure will Apple launch the iOS 5 at the release show in their Cupertino, California campus. But if they do so and you are among those early adopters, you should do well if you decide to backup your iOS device. Backing up your data is always a smart move whenever you do some mayor change on your device, no matter what the change is about. This is just in case something goes wrong and you need to restore your device completely. If you have your backup safe and ready then there is no need to worry at all. If not, well, your data can disappear into the big blue of data heavens.
