Apple patents 3D user interface for mobile devices
According to latest news from the planet Apple, Cupertino California based company is busy working on some new, breakthrough technologies in the realm of mobile device computing. This time, engineers and designers in Tim Cook’s team are tinkering on a new interface system based on proximity sensors, which will react to gestures. The patent submission which was recently published showcases three dimensional display environment using orientation data which is detected by hardware sensors. This way, a perspective view is being shown on display to users without them actually touching the device screen.
This process is using one or more processors and sensors of the iPhone or iPad. In cases when more than one proximity sensors are used, the first sensor will reveal the first position of the device in accordance to the reference frame, at the same time another set of data coming from the second sensor will indicate the second orientation of the iPhone or iPad.
All in all, we think this will have a great potential for iOS gaming among other great uses! Let’s see how long will it take for Apple to deliver this technology to iOS devices. Another reason why iOS devices are vastly superior when compared to the rest of the crowd.
