Apple delays release of iOS 5.0.2

Apple was expected to release iOS 5.0.2 as a sequel in the long quest to squash the pesky battery drain bug which appeared with iOS 5.0. But it seems that Apple’s engineering task force has yet again stumbled upon some unsuspecting bugs which will take more time to solve than previously expected. It seems that the mayor change which iOS 5.0 certainly was, was a rather hard nut to crack due to a bunch of completely new services iOS 5.0 includes like: iCloud, Siri, iTunes Match and others. To weave such a complex framework in a coherent and stable operative system, took Apple quite some time and a number of beta releases. But nonetheless, not everything was functioning flawlessly which was realized especially after the battery life bug rose its ugly head on iPhones runing on iOS 5.0.

The latest rumors we heard claim that Apple has sorted out the battery life bug, but other problems immediately surfaced, this time with some kind of memory leaking issues. In order to avoid a large series of updates (iOS 5.0.3?) Tim Cook and his crew have chosen to solve as much as possible with this firmware version. Which is kind of smart thing to do in our opinion.

Luckily, not everybody had problems with the battery bug, which is much better if compared with for example the ‘death grip’ hardware bug on iPhone 4. Still, it doesn’t look like Apple to have such problems in a row, one after another. With Apple products and services, most users are kind of spoiled and expect nothing less than exceptionally high quality. So Cupertino should get this solved quickly, otherwise risking loosing their unique fame forged back in days of Steve Jobs.
