UltraSn0w unlock for iPhones 4.3.1 with older baseband versions

We are happy to say: the new Sn0wbreeze version 2.4 works great with the UltraSn0w unlock solution for iPhone users who have preserved the baseband on their iPhones. Unlock will work for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. iPhone 3G is not supported for upgrade to 4.3 iOS.

In order to unlock the iPhone you will need to jailbreak it first.

Here are steps needed to unlock your iPhone for use on other network carriers:

- iPhone basebands supported by the UltraSn0w unlock solution: 6.15.00, 05.13.04, 01.59.00, 05.12.01, 04.26.08 and 05.11.07

- UltraSn0w cant unlock following iPhone basebands: 02.10.04, 03.10.01, 04.10.01, 05.14.02 and 05.15.04

-iPhone 3GS bb can be upgraded to the iPad baseband 6.15.00 which can be unlocked. This can be done with Sn0wBreeze.

- Some users have reported GPS not working on iPhone 3GS after upgrade to the iPad baseband 6.15.00

- There is no unlock solution currently available for iPhone users with officially upgraded iPhones 4.3 and 4.3.1 (as they have upgraded their basebands too).

- Sn0wBreeze is currently a tethered jailbreak which means that you will have to reboot with the computer every time you restart your iPhone.

How to upgrade iPhone 3GS to the iPad baseband

As we wrote previously you will need to have older baseband version for UltraSn0w to be able to unlock your iPhone. If this is not so you will need to upgrade to iPad baseband 6.15.00 in order to unlock your iPhone. You can upgrade to this baseband with the help of RedSn0w or Pwnage Tools.

1. You must first jailbreak your iPhone with the help of Sn0wBreeze. The process is same as doing a jailbreak on 4.3 firmware. You can find the instructions here.

2. When you finish the jailbreak with Sn0wBreeze you can continue with the unlocking of your iPhone with supported baseband version. You will need to have UltraSn0w 1.2 for this.

To get UltraSn0w:

- Tap Cydia on your iPhone display

- Select “Manage” and then “Sources” (see the image bellow)

- Choose “Edit” and then choose “Add”.

You will now be prompted to insert the URL address. Carefully type following:

http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com

Please note: type it carefully, if even one letter or sign is incorrect it wont work at all!

When you are done with this you have added another repository of iPhone software to the list of your already available sources.

Cydia will refresh its source list now and you will be able to find UltraSn0w by typing its name in the Search bar. Choose to install this app and it will unlock your iPhone for use on other carriers.

Restart your iPhone and you will be able to insert any sim card and the iPhone will be unlocked on iOS 4.3.1
