Facebook launches new app store?

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook

Facebook plans something great in the next couple of days, says Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook. This new project by Facebook designers and engineers could be almost anything ranging from a new mobile app to a new option on the Facebook website. But after recent rumors about new Facebook app for iPad, we think this could be easily the new great product of Facebook to reach users.
The new Facebook app fro iPad has been extensively tested for a couple of months, and according to latest rumors it is now ready for a launch. This app should make extensive use of iPads unique hardware including its large display and high quality cameras. It could be easily something more than what we are used to with the website and iPhone app. As you probably know, Facebook app for iPhone was launched long time ago. There are some other improvements available too including, a redesign of Facebook groups and Facebook chat. A heavy emhasisi has been made on the touch screen capabilities of iPad too.

GeoHot now in Facebook’s team?

Famous iPhone jailbeak developer GeoHot, real name George Hotz who is one of the most prominent iPhone jailbreak developers, also involved in jailbreaking variety of other devices including Sony Playstation gaming console, is now apparently been employed by Facebook. GeoHot made his fame when he first time developed a jailbreak for Apple’s iPhone back in 2007.

Another jailbreak developer nicknamed P0sixninja, himself a member of jailbreak group Chronic-Dev Team said in an interview that GeoHot has started working for Facebook. According to P0sixninja, this is the main reason GeoHot declined to help with the so far unuscesfull iPad 2 jailbreak. After the recent legal brawl followed by an uneasy legal agreement with Sony, it seems that GeoHot is changing his behaviour and has become more careful about his steps and hacking projects.

Facebook ready for launching their official iPad app.

Facebook is working on final testing of their long awaited iPad app and it should soon become available to iPad users. It is not quite clear why it took almost a year since the original iPad was launched for the first time for Mark Zuckerberg and his team to release their app. Apparently according to an unnamed source in the company, they wanted to carefully tailor their product in order to squeeze as much quality and excellence in the UI sphere as possible. Obviously the main goal was to adjust Facebook app to suit well to the touch screen possibilities as well as the mobility of iPad coupled with its photo taking capabilities. Another task for their designers and engineers was complete redesign of the chat options and Facebook groups. The source revealed that the app will differ from the Facebook website and that it will make available full screen images at high resolution. In our opinion this feature alone would be worth enough to get the app.
