Facebook changing rapidly
Facebook is changing rapidly in order to overcome competition from Google’s latest service, Google Plus and Twitter along with some other less popular social networks. Facebook’s new concept , the ‘Timeline’ is bigger than the old concept of ‘Profile’ and includes more visual aspects. This space will now be available to every user to change at will and you’ll have to decide on the content which you put in your ‘Timeline’. You will notice at the right hand side on the top of your ‘Timeline’ a large photo. This represents your cover and you can put your preferred photos right there. When a users scrolls down he will see his content including his posts, photos and various events as they happen. A user can freely choose what to feature in his “Timeline’. Favorite content can be marked with stars or things you don’t like can be hidden.
If you don’t find some things you like in your ‘Timeline’ you can find and add them manually to your stream. You can also go to your personal activity log where you can easily find anything you have posted since you joined Facebook. From there, you can just choose any post and share it in your ‘Timelline’ so people in your friends lists can also see the post.
You can also use a new kind of apps to your timeline. These ‘social’ apps can enable you to show things you like to do on your timeline, like for example the kind of music you currently listen, the books you read, meals you are preparing and so on. Your friends can also take part in what you do like for example they can listen to same music or watch the same video as you.
It seems that Facebook is exploring new frontiers of social networking and this really looks interesting but somehow it’s also a little bit scary. After all, do you really want to share every thought or action you do with who knows how many people around you?
Timeline is still not open to everyone but you can subscribe to it in advance at Facebook.
