A new Facebook video calling service app arrives to iOS

im+ instant messaging for iPhone and iPad

SHAPE services, a successful smartphone app dev company has prepared another app which could become a bestseller. They like to promote themselves as one of the rare companies which launched bestsellers in four different categories in the App Store: Productivity , Social Networking, Business and Utilities. SHAPE services are well known in the smartphone world s they create apps for different devices including Blackberry and Android.

This all means that when they launch an app they mean business. Their latest app named IM+ is an app which is well integrated into Facebook and it offers video calling between Facebook friends. Shape Services has recently bought a startup called Crisp App which developed Fone, an iOS app for Facebook video calling. Video calling for IM+ will be based on Fone solutions and will enable seamless Skype like video calls between Facebook contacts. Same as with Skype the calls will be free, and you will be able to make calls from mobile to mobile and from your mobile device to a desktop computer. Besides talking with your Facebook contacts you can use IM+ for chatting with your friend on other popular networks, including Yahoo IM, Skype, Twitter, Gtalk and other.

This new app should become available for download in the iTunes App Store during the next week. The price of the app is $9.99. Do you think this is a good idea? Would you like to be able to video call your Facebook friends?
