New Greenpois0n for your 4.2.1 iPhone
While some people say that the new improved jailbreak called Greenpois0n will be available only for some Apple devices this is not true according to a member of the group which authored previous versions of the Greenpois0n.
@Pod2G which is a member of the Chronic Dev Team group claims that this jailbreak will be untethered and will work for all Apple devices on 4.2.1.
In his words: “About the 4.2.1. OOB jailbreak : it will be for all devices supported by Greenpois0n at that time.”
Also it is great that to use this tool you wont need to save the infamous shsh blobs, which was quite an obstacle for average jailbreakers.

Cydia Worm comming to the Mac world
Apple has recently started another venture in their business ecosystem. They are planing to exploit their distribution success with iPhone app store to the Mac world and so they have started app store for Mac OSX. Luckily, good people behind Cydia are not far behind, and so they are bringing Cydia to Mac world as well. According to news, Jay Freeman aka Saurik is preparing the app store for jailbrake app’s.
Saurik is estimating that about 10% of all iPhone users are jailbroken. More than 11 million iPhones have used Cydia app store which is a significant number. More than 35,000 software libraries are available for the iPhone OS, including many open source software packages. Saurik himself is describing Cydia not as a app store but as a repository for software which can enrich and improve capabilities of your Apple device. In his (and our) opinion such a store would be extremely useful for the Mac world too.
Jailbreaking and pirating apps
Jailbreaking, which is in fact opening of your iPhone for use of third party applications is a globally widespread phenomenon. While some people insist that this is most common in less developed countries some statistic are proving otherwise. Besides jailbreaking iPhone for easier use some users are also jailbreaking in order to get pirated apps.
It is quite hard to exactly estimate how many iPhones, iPods and new iPads are jailbroken but there are some numbers which indicate that about 10% of iDevice users are in fact jailbreaking their devices. This number comes from someone who should know this as he is one of the founders of the movement, Jay Freeman, who is one of the people behind the Cydia app which is used for jailbreaking and which is a kind of a unofficial app store.
Here is the list of countries with largest number of jailbroken iPhones
Apple is changing its Water Damage Policies
The Cupertino company has changed its approach on performing repairs for iPods and perhaps also iPhones which have initiated so called LCI (Liquid Contact Indicators). LCI is small thing inside your iPod which starts if comes in contact with some kind of fluid. A document acquired by our online source indicates that Apple could still uphold your warranty whether or not the LCI is started.
