Apple is changing its Water Damage Policies
The Cupertino company has changed its approach on performing repairs for iPods and perhaps also iPhones which have initiated so called LCI (Liquid Contact Indicators). LCI is small thing inside your iPod which starts if comes in contact with some kind of fluid. A document acquired by our online source indicates that Apple could still uphold your warranty whether or not the LCI is started.
If an user argues whether or not a device with an triggered indicator is damaged by water contact and if there aren’t any external signs of problems by corrosion, then your iDevice may still be eligible for warranty service. Last October a different internal document was leaked that also recommended technicians to inspect iPods for additional warning signs of water damage. In May, a class action suit was submitted trying to fight Apple, alleging that the company knowingly denies warranty service based upon only unreliable liquid indicators.
