iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch launched!

And finally after many weeks of patient work by jailbreak developers and long waiting for iOS users, jailbreak which was created by Pod2g is now officially launched. This jailbreak works for iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G and 4G and for the original iPad tablet.

Only a couple of days ago, Pod2g has forwarded his jailbreak solution to both iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team. Both groups have immediately added the jailbreak to their respective tools which in case of iPhone Dev Team is RedSn0w and PwnageTool. Chronic Dev Team has made the jailbreak available in a Cydia package.

Here are some features of this new jailbreak:

1. Most important is that its a untethered jailbreak.
2. Only A4 based iOS devices are supported.
3. If you have any A4 device you should update to iOS 5.0.1 immediately as Apple stil signs iOS 5.0.1. When you upgrade to 5.0.1 use latest version of RedSn0w to get an untethered jailbreak on your device.
4. If you use a custom firmware mixed from iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 do not jailbreak with this solution as your device will end up in endless reboot cycles. Instead simply restore your device to iOS 5.0.1, and only after the upgrade use RedSn0w to make your untethered jailbreak.
