iOS 4.3.2 Untethered jailbreak available soon?
We already have a tethered jailbreak for iPhone4 and iPhone 3GS but will there be a untethered jailbreak available soon? It appears this could be the case. As reported by the jailbreak developers community it seems that Apple failed to patch the exploit found by a German developer i0n1c (real name Stefan Esser). He has just confirmed recently that his exploit which makes the untethered jailbreak possible is not plugged by Apple in the recent iOS update. This means that an untethered jailbreak is possible for iOS devices including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod , iPad and Apple TV.
In his Twitter stream i0n1c says that he is being quite satisfied as Apple failed to patch the exploit with their upgrade to iOS 4.3.2.
Still there is some work to be done as the code has to be updated to be compatible with iOS 4.3.2.
Obviously, the jailbreak is close but we should be patient and not hurry things!
So for now if you are in a hurry to jailbreak and simply cant wait for this untethered jailbreak to become available you can use PwnageTools version 4.3 or RedSn0w version 0.9.6rc12 for the jailbreak. When will the new jailbreak become available? As usually there is no confirmed release date but most probably it should be available during the next week.
For a tethered jailbreak you can see this instructions: RedSn0w and Pwnage Tools. As always if you need a carrier unlock do not use RedSn0w as it will upgrade the baseband. Instead jailbreak with Pwnage Tools 4.3 and then follow up with the UltraSn0w carrier unlock.
