New interactive toys and games for iPad

interactive toys for iPad

We cant stop being amazed by cool new ideas for using iPad tablets. This time it is Disney which has introduced a novel way for kids to enjoy playing with iPads and some special toys. iPad will this time serve as a special kind of interactive playing surface. This idea called App Mates will enable kids to play different iPad games like Pixar Cars and others which will follow soon by using real toys on the iPad display.

Disney is the first company using this innovative new technology in a such creative manner and they have yesterday introduced what they call ‘AppMATesTM Mobile Application Toys’ which are simply said toys able to interact with the digital realm when kids use them on their iPad tablets.

Here is how it works: every toy has a hidden electronic sensor and when the child puts the toy on the iPad screen, it starts sending data to Disney’s iPad app. The game then reacts to this input depending on the position, type of toy and the play itself . This way the toy interacts with the iPad without the need for bluetooth or some other rather complicated way for interaction. Kids can now “travel” on different digital roads around Radiator Springs and they can also play the game in a free mode where there are missions which need to be completed or they can race against their friends.

This game looks great but we need to warn you before you get the game and accompanying toys: if your kid gets too excited and presses the toy on the iPad with too much strength it can easily damage the iPad display. A solution for this could be a really good iPad case. Whatever you choose to do if you get this game your kids will surely enjoy it!
