HP’s discontinued TouchPad running on Android OS

HP TouchPad

We’ve just seen an Youtube video of a HP’s recently abandoned TouchPad tablet with what looks like an successful installation of Android Froyo 2.2. TouchPad like other mobile devices by HP originally runs on WebOS. We are not sure what is the background story on this but it seems plausible as TouchPad’s hardware is compatible with Google mobile OS, and technically speaking it can be done, the same way WEB OS can be installed on your iPad, but who would want to do that and for what reason? Anyway, nobody is sure if this is some kind of testing device or something else. Apparently the tablet has been sold with Froyo already installed. Was it some kind of mistake? We can only guess on this.

Samsung uses a movie sequence as an evidence in patent infringement legal battle against Apple

Samsung’s lawyers are becoming increasingly creative as the legal process Apple started against South Korean user electronics manufacturer continues. Now they want to proof that Apple’s ipad design isn’t as original as widely promoted. Apparently there is an scene in a famous science fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey where a device similar to what we know today as a tablet is clearly visible. Amazingly this movie was made all the way back in 1968. You can see this scene in the Youtube video bellow.

Apple introduces earthquake warning for Japanese version of iOS 5

It seems that Steve Jobs and his team have clearly understood the threats coming from natural disasters like those which hit Japan only a couple of moths ago. The earthquake that hit Japan, followed by an devastating tsunami have taken a large number of human lives and a huge material destruction in Japan’s coastal area. And the disaster become even worse since the tsunami affected large nuclear energy plants. The same disaster had also influenced Apple’s business as some of the key factories for iPhone and ipad components are located in Japan.

After Apple stores, now Jobs biography gets faked!

Recently we have mentioned an invasion of fake Apple Stores appearing in China and other countries. Now we have something even more hilarious: a fake biography of Steve Jobs! It seems that many people have been inspired by Steve Jobs and his wonder company, although some people obviously tend to go to far with this inspiration. This fake biography is written under a real name or pseudonym “John Cage”. By the way, authors name also sounds pretty fake! The books name can be translated from Chinese roughly as “Jobs eleven advises for every teenager”. Books are available in official Taiwanese bookstores and already more than four thousand books are sold to people interested in Steve Jobs advices! This could be a great pointer to authors searchingfor a market. Perhaps we will soon see mass influx on fake Apple related books!.

iPhone app made by 7 year old boy

Most people using iPhone had at least once an idea for a great iOS app. But there is a difference between having an idea and realizing it. In fact, the great majority never ever come close to realize their idea and go all the way to a finished app. Perhaps you’ll change your developers attitude when you read this story. Seven year old boy Connor Zamar has released an iPhone app named ToasterPop which is made for preschool kids just like Connor. His app idea comes from an story which his father often repeated him about a fancy old toaster. The game is quite easy, slices of bread jump out of an toaster and you have to catch them and put some butter on top of them.
