Jailbreak tweak: Speed for Maps on iPhone introduces speedometer for maps

One of the best map related apps in the smartphone world is the one available in iOS world as a native iOS app. But one of the missing features with it is that it lacks a speedometer. But again thanks to jaiblreaking and jailbreak app developers we have another great solution and improvement. Speed For Maps ia a new jailbreak tweak which is available for all iPhones which are on iOS 4.x.x and solves that problem. When you install this tweak, it will add an indicator for speed in the bottom of the screen when you use the Map app.

FBI launches children safety related iPhone app

We have recently seen that even Chinese military is thinking in terms of Apple and iOS as they have released an iOS app representing themselves. Now Federal Bureau of Investigation of US has also started releasing their own iPhone and iPad apps. The first app coming from FBI is Child ID. This app is sort of a digital document with various informations about your kids. You can keep all relevant informations about the physical characteristics of your children with this app (weight, height etc.). Child ID has several important uses like for example you can easily show it to law enforcement officers in case your child is missing (in situations like airports and similar). You can also quickly call 911 or the Center for Missing Children from within the app with a quick tap on the screen. There is also an option to send the information about your children to appropriate government agencies through email.

iTunes 10.5 b5 and iOS 5 b5 downloads now available, developers only!

Apple is as busy as ever, and obviously they are even stepping up their activities in anticipation of a mayor event which will be the launch of their iPhone 5 and it’s accompanying iOS, the iOS 5. Now they have seeded the beta 5 version of iOS 5 and as always this release is meant for iOS developers only. As always developers will need to download and install latest version of iTunes version 10.5 b5 which is released at the same time as iOS 5 b5. This release should improve the overall performances and prepare things for the official release which is scheduled for September or October this year. If you have installed on your iPhone some other beta version of iOS 5 you wont be able to use this latest version of iTunes to sync your device. So if you plan to install this version of iTunes you’ll need to install iOS 5 b5 before you proceed, otherwise you will get stuck. And sincerely, there is no need to upgrade anyway as it is a very volatile software currently and no apps are yet available, that is unless you are an app developer yourself.

Jailbreak tweak: UploadEnabler for Mobile Safari

Here is another fabulous jailbreak tweak this time comng from less known app developers H. Samara and Bassen N. This tweak meddles with your Safari web browser and enables you to upload any kind of file with your iPhone or iPad browser. Uploading is for some reason by default disabled within Apple iOS which can be quite cumbersome if you need to download or upload some important file. Luckily if you jailbreak your iPhone with RedSn0w, PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze, you can use UploadEnabler to help you uploading files to the web. It works for iPhone’s on iOS 4.2.1 and higher.

New ball themed game launched in the App Store

A Game With Balls for iPhone

Despite its name this isn’t your usual sports themed game. “A Game With Balls” is more of a strategy game which works on both iPhone and iPad. In this game balls will be your opponents and your goal is to brush them aside with your cannon. They will fail from the sky and you will have to perfect your shooting and calculations of physical reactions by balls which can destroy your little cannon.

AT&T goes against iPhone jailbreak tethering

If you are an iPhone user and you care about tethering with your iPhone here is a news which you wont be very glad to hear. AT&T plans to go against users who are using unlimited data plans to tether their devices. This is especially relevant to users which still use AT&T’s now discontinued unlimited data plan, as their plan could be cut off if they continue their unofficial tethering operation.

EA founder thinks Apple is at the peak and will soon go down!

Founder of the famous gaming company Electronic Arts, Trip Hawkins thinks Apple will soon lose its primacy. While it isn’t anything new, and many people predicted that Apple is finished, Steve Jobs and his team are still in the game or better said not only in the game but they are the king of the game!

There are many critics targeting Apple and we wont see some new critique but rather old ideas about Apple and how it works.

Chinese army launched an iPhone Jailbreak app!

Chinese army also known as PLA (People’s Liberation Army) which is according to statistics second most powerful army on the globe second only to USA armed forces. To increase their PR image they have just pushed out an iPhone app which represents Chinese armed forces and its intentions to the global public in a form of an iPhone app. Interesting as it comes when an officially communist army releases an high tech application like in these case, it is even more interesting that they have released this app outside of Apple’s app store. This means that only users which have jailbroken devices will be able to use this app!
