Almost immediately after iPhone 4S became available to users we heard different stories and complains on battery life with iPhone 4S. If you remember, despite many iOS users being slightly disappointed with iPhone 4S it still reached unbelievably high demand reaching the status of most wanted iOS device so far. When announcing iPhone 4S, one of Apple’s highlights was its longer battery life. But after the device was released into the real world, complaints started to flow in.

It seems that many users found out that the battery lasts considerably shorter time if compared with the similar iPhone 4. So far the reason for this problem has not yet been located. To solve this Apple has formed a task group of engineers which will focus solely on finding the cause of the battery draining. Apple is now quietly contacting iPhone 4S users and inquiring about the problem. One such users claims that the battery drain was extremely quick, almost a 10 percent fall for every hour, even if only in the standby mode. Even after turning of Siri and Location Services, the problem remained.

At least Apple is acknowledging this problem and working hard to find the cause of it. Additionally, some users were asked by Apple to install a small file which would later be analysed by Apple engineers. It is important to remind that Apple has promised 200 hours of battery life in standby mode which is indeed lower than what is being specified for iPhone 4. For some users the main problem was appearing due to a glitch with contacts which were imported from the iCloud or even from Google contacts. And the solution was quite simple: just reinstall the app and problem is solved. Do you have an iPhone 4S battery problem? And do you think Apple will solve this?
