iPhone tips & tricks: Disable Ping to increase battery life
If you have recently upgraded to iOS 4.3 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod you have probably been among many users which have complained about the significant battery life time decrease. It is not clear whether Apple engineers have actually tried to solve this problem in the recent upgrade to iOS 4.3.1 but since many jailbreakers are not yet willing to update this problems still bothers many users.
But now there is a trick which will increase the battery life of your iPhone. It seems that the cause of this battery draining is Apple’s music social network, the recently launched Ping. So if you have experienced battery time issues and didn’t upgrade your iOS for some reason you can try to disable the Ping social network to solve this problem.
To disable Ping on your iPhone:
1. Tap on “Settings”.
2. Tap “General” and then “Restrictions”.
3. Choose “Enable restrictions”.
4. Enter a password. You will need to enter this if you want to enable (or disable) restrictions on your iPhone.
5. Turn Ping off.
You have turned your Ping social network off on your iPhone and this will improve the battery life on your device.
