Subscription based iPad games now available

This is the first time Apple decided to allow subscription based games to enter into the app store. The first such pack of games added to app store were games made by Big Fish Games. All games in their pack became available at only $6.99 monthly. This subscription based mode of payment was officially available since last year but this is the first time some company has decided to take this route.

Obviously, Big Fish Games approaches customers in a strategy similar to ‘all you can eat’ restaurants, allowing gamers to try out different games without spending too much money. The company expects that the popularity of Apples iPad, coupled with safe and simple payment procedures available with App Store will prove as a great revenue source for this new business model.

Big Fish Games offers a diverse range of games such as Mahjong Towers, Mystery Case Files and Daily Deal. Another interesting feature is that users wont have to download separate game titles. Instead they can get access to other games from within the app, as it gets streamed to their iPad directly from Big Fish Games servers. Let us know what do you think about this and would it fit with your gaming needs.
