Apple preparing iTunes Match for release?

Apple iTunes Match music locker service

Apple has notified all iOS developers about their plans for resetting all iTunes Match accounts today. Apple has announced that this measure is necessary for improvement of the quality and stability of this new service. Complete reset of iCloud data isn’t something new as Apple did this already in a number of occasions while testing and releasing iOS 5 and iCloud beta versions.

To remind you, iTunes Match was planned as an important addition to iCloud and iOS 5. This will basically become a completely new music locker service offered by Apple. In exchange for a fee of US $24.99 iTunes Match will check your iTunes library and provide you with a high quality AAC version of every song which exists in the iTunes music catalogue.

At this time, Apple will provide this service only to US residents because of the limits in licensing deals between Apple and representatives of the music industry. But Apple is probably already negotiating for broader coverage for this service. Cupertino company has promised on the recently held “Lets talk iPhone” event held immediately before the launch og iOS 5 and iPhone 4S that iTunes Match should be publicly available at the end of October. So it should become available any day now! A new service from Apple! Do you plan to use iTunes Match? Let us know in the comments bellow!
