Greenpois0n RC6.1 with iBooks update

greenP0ison

It is interesting how the cat and mouse game develops between Apple and the jailbreaking community. We have recently written about the new twist where Apple has injected a piece of code which is then testing if your iPhone or iPad is jailbroken and if so it blocks your access to books with DRM in the iBooks app.

The issue was notified by the users who use iBooks for reading leggaly purchased books and the famous group Dev Team has immediately reacted by releasing an upgrade to the Greenpois0n jailbreaking tool. @Comex is the guy to whom we should be thankful for this fast reaction. The new version of Greenpois0n is codenamed RC6.1

Another solution to this problem is also a jailbreak app called iBook Fix and it is available through Cydia.

We are also informed that Pwnage tool (jailbreak tool for thos using Mac computers) and Sn0wbreeze (jailbreak for people using Windows) have also implemented this iBook solution.

Pwnage tool and Sn0wbreeze should be preferred jailbreaks if you care about the unlock as Greenpois0n and RedSn0w will by default upgrade your baseband. If you need to unlock your iPhone for use on other network carriers you should be sure not to update the baseband. UltraSn0w which is unlocking tool wont work if you upgrade your baseband. If you are already on the new baseband you will need to upgrade to iPad baseband in order to unlock your iOS device.
