Apple to launch two new tablets in 2012?

New rumors are spreading about Apple’s plans for their tablet devices in 2012. According to some unnamed sources in consumer electronics supply chain, Apple plans to launch two versions of the iPad tablet.

This reminds us somewhat on the strategy Apple took with iPhone. First there was iPhone 4 and then it was followed with iPhone 4S. Now according to aforementioned rumors Apple will first launch iPad 2S. iPad 2S should be an updated version of the currently available iPad 2 tablet. It should feature slightly better hardware including faster processors and better batteries. This device should be available in March of 2012.

Apple to unveil Assistant within iOS 5?

Rumors about the big release event for Apple’s new iPhone have never been so interesting and at the same time contradicting as we all expect to see what exactly will Apple release this time. Most users expect to see a new iPhone model, but could it be that a new iPhone model could be only a small issue if compared with something else Apple wants to show us? Apparently a new voice control system should be a part of iOS 5. This new feature, named by some Apple fans as Assistant could introduce a whole new level to what Apple and iPhone is about. It has the potential of changing the way we interact with our iOS devices. First there was a multitouch screen and now there is Assistant, a voice interaction system which could change the world of computing as much as touchscreens did.

iPhone 4 S image spotted in new iTunes beta

Apple has made a small mistake which resulted with leaking of the image of the new iPhone model. This could mean the end of discussions on the next iPhone model and name. iTunes 10.5 b9 has unintentionally released the image of the device, and surprisingly they look almost the same as Verizon’s CDMA iPhone 4. The image file refers to the device as “iPhone 4 S”. This seems that most of the rumors we wrote about earlier have been pointing in the right direction.

iPad 3 prototype image surfaced

iPad 3 image

The image you see above is what seems to be some kind of iPad 3 prototype. The image first surfaced on an Apple devoted blog and now starts to circulate across the tech blogosphere. You can clearly see that the device looks like an iPad with an visible Apple logo but with different case design. Most visible difference is some kind of a bulge on the left hand side of the image. Could it be some kind of ethernet port? The answer seems to be a positive one as the same area bears a visible sign for a ethernet port. Another interesting thing is that this iPad seems to have a wide screen display. Apparently, no camera is visible on the tablet.

If you remember there was even an white iphone 4 64 GB prototype image published some time ago. So given this, it seems quite plausible that Apple wants to finally push such a device to eager users.

Android tablet with Amazon store, a winning combination?

mock amazon kindle fire

Amazon is according to latest rumors working on their new Android 7” tablet which was dubbed as the “Kindle Fire”. It will run on a version of Android OS but this OS version will be completely independent from Google’s current version of Android. The tablet wont be available to the public until the second week of November. Unnamed sources inside Amazon leaked the information that Amazon is working with partners outside the company on the hardware for this new tablet. Interestingly, Amazon has opted to outsource their tablet project to Quanta which was also one of the main developers working on RIM’s PlayBook tablet device instead of using their own Kindle development team. Obviously, Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos wants the Kindle team to focus on the next generation of ebook readers. Quanta
has apparently relied on experience gained while working on the PlayBook tablet.
