Apple to loan iPad 2 tablets to retail sales personnel
Apple is testing out a new workforce training approach with the essence of the program to be supplying the sales staff with iPad tablets. With this program sellers and other retail workers will be able to loan iPads for a week long learning period. During this time they are expected to try out the devices and learn as much as possible about using and maintaining them. After seven days they will have to return the tablets to the store. At the time being, Apple has limited this plan to Apple Store in San Francisco but it is expected that this program will be available throughout the country. At the time being, nobody knows for sure when will this approach be used in other Apple Stores. Stay tuned and we will let you know as soon as we have some fresh news regarding this and all other latest iPhone and iPad news, rumors and opinions.
Nissan releases an iOS add campaing for iPhone
We have recently seen some brands taking a huge jump in popularity with viral videos. Like what Old Spice did with their viral add campaign on Youtube. Here is another global brand, this time Nissan, a Japanese car manufacturer takes a turn and creates this rather interesting iOS add using iPhone’s hardware for some great effects. Nissan has created a 360 degree advertizing app to promote their new model, Nissan Versa. This add takes advertising a step further by creating a funny immersive add targeting iPhone enabled youth with their geeky effects. You can change outfit of the people casting in this add, including their shoes, hats and clothes. You can also download a nice song from the “Foster the People’ band and eventually win a free Nissan Versa if you are lucky enough. Well worth the effort if you are interested in this kind of things.
Apple to tie iCloud and iTunes login data?
Many Apple users have been frustrated by the fact that different elements in Apple system demand different login credentials. Compare this to the fact that you can access any Google service with just one identity and you will understand why this is not received particularly well by Apple users.
But as the launching date for iOS 5 and iPhone 5 gets closer Apple might rethink this strategy. As you probably know if you read our blog frequently, iOS will feature some exiting new and not so new features like full iCloud integration, Game Center, FaceTime, iTunes and so on. For any of those services you need to have a separate user login, but now according to a new rumor Apple is preparing a launch of a completely new Apple ID system.
iPhone model leaked, looks like an iPhone 4 S
As the release date of iPhone 5 is getting closer rumors spread like a wildfire in California, many of them obviously false but some of them looking quite plausible. The picture of this iPhone testing model was posted on Engadget, and it supposedly represents an iPhone prototype codenamed N 94. The story which comes with this photo is a bit long, but essentially it says that this iPhone is the latest testing model of what will become the next iPhone model, known as iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S will be an cheaper version of iPhone 4 which will be targeted towards the enormous large Chinese and Indian market. According to some analysts this model could be launched at the same time as the iPhone 5.
Youtube videos with iPhone 5 predictions and ideas
Jan-Michael Cart, an post production and gifted graphic designer, has created a series of Youtube videos on various concepts for the future iPhone 5. This are features he would personally like to see with the next Apple smartphone, not what will really be available soon after Apple launches it latest piece of wonder technology. Apple should take notice as these are quite impressive designs. It seems that Jan-Michael Cart has some real touch for this kinds of things. He is currently finishing his official training at the University of Georgia, and what he presents here could quite easily fit into Apple’s unique design concepts.
HP’s discontinued TouchPad running on Android OS
We’ve just seen an Youtube video of a HP’s recently abandoned TouchPad tablet with what looks like an successful installation of Android Froyo 2.2. TouchPad like other mobile devices by HP originally runs on WebOS. We are not sure what is the background story on this but it seems plausible as TouchPad’s hardware is compatible with Google mobile OS, and technically speaking it can be done, the same way WEB OS can be installed on your iPad, but who would want to do that and for what reason? Anyway, nobody is sure if this is some kind of testing device or something else. Apparently the tablet has been sold with Froyo already installed. Was it some kind of mistake? We can only guess on this.
Apple releases iOS 5 beta 6, jailbreak developers work on RedSn0w to jailbreak it!
Apple has just yesterday released a new iOS 5 beta upgrade in an obvious hurry to prepare everything for the upcoming September release of the official version of this iOS and the new iPhone 5, which is expected to be launched at the same time.
It seem that RedSn0w has a peculiar ability to work around any new iOS release and provide a tethered jailbreak for iPhone and iPad users. Of course, a tethered jailbreak is less desirable as you are afterwards bonded to your desktop computer whenever you are in need to restart your iPhone. But while it isn’t as good a solution like an untethered jailbreak, it still provides users which need the jailbreak with a useful and workable solution.
Apple develops AR navigation app
Apple is developing a new technology which includes implementing AR into iPhone native Map and Compass app. One of the explanation of this technology in use is that iPhone users could take images of their location and then they could get navigation data according to that image.
The AR (augmented reality) function should add information’s on the iPhone display, providing users with specific data on locations which are currently viewed including buildings, streets, bridges and so on. This patent also adds an GPS navigation tool which receives data from the camera and simultaneously builds AR layer in real time.
