Pool Party - a new iPhone app for sharing images by Google

Google just launched it latest product stright inot the iOS market. This product was designed by people previously working for Slide, a small startup recently bought by Google. At the time being it is per invitation as it is still in testing phase. With this app you can share your photos with your circle of friends which use this app. It is not clear why exactly Google is offering multiple image sharing platforms, as Picasa and Google + are already doing the same thing. Perhaps Google releases several projects at the same time so users can choose the best one, in a kind of evolutionary struggle between apps?

Apple’s iPhone is stubbornly breaking into different areas of life, and App Store sells more and more earlier impossible to have apps. While it wont completely replace your dermatologists careful examinations it could improve and point to potential dangers.

How does this work? Simply: you take pictures of moles on your skin and the app will measure its size. When measured, apps algorithm will calculate the possibility for development of melanom. This health app was created by Victor Anastasiu and a team of developers. Beside iOS developers, Mr. Anastasiu also included in his team two mathematicians and a couple of dermatologists. Demo video of Skype for iPad launched on Youtube

Skype app for iPad 2

Nobody is sure what happened really with this video as it was uploaded and then removed. Luckily for us, it seems that somebody downloaded the video and later shared it with the Youtube audience. If this is indeed a new version of Skype for iPad it really looks splendid as you can see for yourself in the video bellow. Video calls, Wi-Fi or 3G based calling, whole screen video, impressive graphic resolution, clean user interface and so on. Seems that this time they have made it fabulously, just as the iPad platform deserves. Who knows perhaps Microsoft with their recent purchase of Skype is pushing its boundaries in an effort to make a strong intrusion into Apple dominated world of iPad apps?

A group of Dutch developers have added an interesting twist to this idea. What they did is that they connected users location to small tasks. Basically this means that some company could use individuals in more or less remote locations for variety of tasks.

Have you been aware that there are many more Wi-fi networks around you than your iPhone shows? Many networks are hidden due to lower level of the wireless signal. Here comes WiFi Booster, a new Cydia tweak which will lower the threshold of the signal strength so many more available networks will be visible in your iPhone networks list. New York post has locked its online edition. If you point your iPad‘s Safari browser to their website you will be greeted by a message that New York Post is from now available for iPad users only through the New York Post paid app. The same message about the app availability will greet you if you try to access NY Post’s Facebook page. Facebook ready for launching their official iPad app.

Facebook is working on final testing of their long awaited iPad app and it should soon become available to iPad users. It is not quite clear why it took almost a year since the original iPad was launched for the first time for Mark Zuckerberg and his team to release their app. Apparently according to an unnamed source in the company, they wanted to carefully tailor their product in order to squeeze as much quality and excellence in the UI sphere as possible. Obviously the main goal was to adjust Facebook app to suit well to the touch screen possibilities as well as the mobility of iPad coupled with its photo taking capabilities. Another task for their designers and engineers was complete redesign of the chat options and Facebook groups. The source revealed that the app will differ from the Facebook website and that it will make available full screen images at high resolution. In our opinion this feature alone would be worth enough to get the app.
