iPhone health apps: Skin scan

Apple’s iPhone is stubbornly breaking into different areas of life, and App Store sells more and more earlier impossible to have apps. This time here is another potentially great app. Scin Scan is made to help you protect your health from real risks. While it wont completely replace your dermatologists careful examinations it could improve and point to potential dangers.

How does this work? Simply: you take pictures of moles on your skin and the app will measure its size. When measured, apps algorithm will calculate the possibility for development of melanom. This health app was created by Victor Anastasiu and a team of developers. Beside iOS developers, Mr. Anastasiu also included in his team two mathematicians and a couple of dermatologists. Anastasiu and his team have gathered more than $70,000 in funding.

While this is potentially a very useful app, it is still doubtful as what could happen if some lawsuit claims that the app has misjudged an dangerous melanoma for a benign mole. Skin Scan health app is available for download in Apple’s iTunes Store for $4.99
