Apple stops signing iOS 4.3.3
Apple has just stopped signing iOS 4.3.3 and you wont be able to upgrade not restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to iOS 4.3.3. Apple has swiftly closed the importunity for restoring to this iOS version and you wont be able to restore your device to this firmware unless you have saved your devices SHSH blobs with TinyUmbrella or some other tool.
This isn’t a particularly good news for jailbreak users as they wont be able to use JailbreakMe by Comex for jailbreaking. It will also be troublesome for users which have upgraded to iOS 5 beta wanting to downgrade to previous firmware. As you know Apple’s engineers have released iOS 4.3.4 upgrade to block JailbreakMe which user and PDF vulnerability for performing an easy jailbreak. JailbreakMe was even able to easily jailbreak previously jailbreak resistant iPad 2 tablet.
IOS 4.3.3 is so far the latest iOS version on which you can preform an untethered jailbreak. As we wrote recently we already have an tethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.4 in the form of latest RedSn0w jailbreaking tool.
@MuscleNerd which is a member of the leading iPhone jailbreak dev team wrote in his twitter stream that he sincerely hope there aren’t many iPad 2 users which have upgraded to iOS 5 b but didn’t save SHSH blobs. Luckily they aren’t completely stuck with bricked devices as they can always restore with the official iOS 4.3.4 but the price is that the jailbreak is lost.
So if you are one of the people running iOS 4.3.3 on your device do not upgrade to 4.3.4! This upgrade is made available only to patch the JailbreakMe exploit and so it’s practically useless to users. If you want to keep you untethered jailbreak stay on iOS 4.3.3 until we have a new and better jailbreak solution available.
If you are among the lucky ones with saved SHSH blobs you can restore easily to iOS 4.3.3 and afterwards just visit JailbreakMe.com for the easy jailbreak.
