New iOS incorporates App Store app Updates and Automatic Download

A latest discovery made by MacRumors shows that there is a new add on to the iTunes App Store’s update page in the shape of a sentence which hits of an upcoming feature termed Automatic Download. However the greater meaning of this Automatic Download is not entirely clear yet but as it seems Apple will be giving new iOS users the option to set their iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch to automatically download and install updates from the App Store. There is also a hint that this may be an option which means that Apple could be planning for an update for iOS.

The sentence which has sparked off this wave of excitement reads “Of if your device has Automatic Download enabled for apps, your updates will download to your device without having to sync.”

Currently all Apple users have to open up the App Store app on their device and then manually chose or click the update all option every time they need to update an app. This new sentence (given above) appears around three months before the rumored public release of the much awaited iOS5. Now this could just be Apple testing out its new iOS5 written statements or there will really be an Automatic Download feature made available to the public by next week. We should expect Apple to talk about iOS and the iCloud on Monday and this is when things may become clearer.

The new sentence also hits at the possibility of a few more App Store apps. This may possibly be the first ever hit from Apple about their plans to give people over the air updates for their software as well as a brand new iOS software update which comes via the new version of Apple’s AirPort Extreme, and Time Capsule.

Heading into WWDC rumors / news such as this can really make sitting through the weekend difficult. But if this statement is anything to go by we can safely say that Apple has a lot in store for us in the next few weeks. We may probably not see the new iPad and iPhone at this year’s launch but the presence of Steve Jobs and these major developments are definitely going to be game changers.
