More than 15 billion apps downloaded from iTunes
Apple reported recently that their iTunes App Store has served downloading of more than 15 billion apps by iPhone, iPod and iPad users around the globe. Currently iTunes App Store has more than 420,000 apps in different categories like: games, productivity, health, education and much more. Only for iPad, which is a fairly new device there are already more than 100,000 different apps.
Apple’s vice president or Worldwide Marketing, Phillip Schiller said that App store has in just three years became the best and most efficient global software marketplace ever. This is one of the best signs of a great relationship Apple has developed with app developers enabling them to serve more than 200 million iOS device users around the world. iPhone , iPad and iPod users in 90 countries worldwide have been enriched by the incredible diversity of various apps helping users to improve and enrich their lives with Apple devices and apps which weren’t possible or imaginable only couple of years ago.
App developers have earned a staggering sum of 2.5 billion $US, which is a sure sign that this app growth will continue in the times ahead. Perhaps iPhone 5 and the rumored iPad 3 could even increase the number of Apple users worldwide. We are sure only in one thing: Apple will be able to surprise us with new magical tools. What is the next move by Apple?
