Will you go for a white iPhone or wait for the iPhone 5?

Iphone 4 white, the elusive Apple iOS device has finally hit the stores today. But, is this too late? Is it a better and smarter choice to wait for the iPhone 5 which should be available later during the fall?

We have been patient enough to wait for almost a year since the last years WWDC but the release of this iPhone model was delayed several times because of technical issues. This means that this iPhone is same as the original iPhone 4 but with different color. This shouldn’t disappointed anyone as iPhone 4 is still a top performing smartphone, a class of its own. Yet it is not a new model of iPhone it is just sleek design variation.

On the other side the upcoming iPhoone 5 was expected to be launched this summer in line with Apple’s choice to upgrade their iOS devices with a new model every year. But for variety of reasons this wont be the case this year. According to many different sources the new release date should be in September of this year. Until the device is released nobody will know for sure how much improvement would it represent over the iPhone 4. If it turns out that it is a small scale improvement like the iPhone 3GS was, it will probably feature only a improvement with a new A5 processor. But many users, including us would certainly love to see a mayor redesign of the device.

So what is the conclusion? If you simply must to have an iPhone right now you should go on and get an white iPhone 4. But if you can be patient enough, it would be wise to wait and see what kind of magic will Apple give to us with the upcoming iPhone 5.
