Apple simply denies that a new iPhone will be launched during the event but stopping short of saying that both the launch of the new iOS5 and the latest Mac OS X Lion are both big deals. Apple may probably be trying to stay in the media spotlight by encouraging members of the press to attend and not postpone because the new iPhone will not be launched.

iOS 5 comes with a new firmware upgrading system?
WWDC will most likely be the time and place where Apple will showcase the new iOS 5 and some of the rumors are predicting interesting new features like a new firmware upgrading system. Currently the usual way of upgrading the iOS is time consuming and somewhat complex especially to newbie iOS users. In order to upgrade you have to backup your device, download the new upgrade which can be an up to 600 Mb download and restore your device. It is not very convenient especially if compared with Android updates which are done over the air. Your smartphone just notifies you that a new upgrade is available and you can upgrade instantly without your computer or iTunes. Moreover you wont need to download 600Mb or more of data but instead only small, incremental patches. Apple is currently negotiating with network carriers in US, notably with Verizon in order to bring over the air upgrade to iOS users. Over the air upgrades could certainly simplify firmware upgrading and improve overall user experience.
iOS 5 feature, whole new level of voice command integration?
Another rumor comes out regrading the new Apple endeavours. This time it is about the upcoming and somewhat elusive iOS 5. According to this rumor Siri, which was a small inventive startup which made an fascinating app and was bought out by Cupertino California giant. Siri’s artificial intelligence and assistance technology will be an integral part of the whole iOS 5.
Siri’s app awesomeness comes from the fact that it allows iPhone users to act by using simple voice commands. For example if you want to find out where to have a Chinese dinner close to your office, you just have to ask the question and Siri will find you an answer. Basically Siri is your virtual personal assistant.
iPhone 5 and iOS 5 rumors
Many hardcore Apple fans have been kind of disappointed when Apple didn’t relieve anything about the upcoming iOS 5 on the recent iPad 2 launching event. It is expected that iOS 5 would be a completely redesigned and re engineered OS with heavy emphasis on cloud services.
The reason is probably that Apple is still far away from finishing it and they will simply need much more time than expected. Reliable sources in Cupertino California based company have revealed that the iOS 5 wouldn’t see the daylight before late fall.
If it really plays out like this, it will mean that Apple is breaking their usual pattern of iOS launching in early spring followed by release of a new iPhone model.
When will Apple release iPhone 5 and iOS 5 ?
Apple’s new version of iOS will probably be not available before the fall. But on the other side this surely wont delay traditional release of new iPhone model every summer. Some analysts even claim that a new iPad would be available next fall.
Until now Apple had usually presented their new iOS during early spring in order to give software developers enough time to work on their apps and prepare them for the iOS launch in summer. So far Apple has not followed this pattern and there are no reliable news about iOS 5 so far.
