Apple soon to develop wireless battery chargers for iPhone, iPod and iPad?

According to Wall Street Journal Apple is developing a new way for charging their mobile devices. It could be that what they are up to is some process fro wireless charging o devices. For example the Palm Pre handheld was made with an induction based charger which allowed users to recharge the device by putting it on a special charging device. The downside of such solution is that the device has to be connected to the actual charger in order for the power transmission to happen. But there are more interesting solutions which could provide better options for wireless charging. A small Massachusetts based startup named WiTricity has being developing wireless electricity transmission which has drawn attention from many big names including Apple. WiTricity is working on a completely new model of energy transmission which could send energy up to a couple of meters away and which works different than the well known induction method. This technology originating in MIT has being featured in a 2009 TED talk.

More than 15 billion apps downloaded from iTunes

Apple reported recently that their iTunes App Store has served downloading of more than 15 billion apps by iPhone, iPod and iPad users around the globe. Currently iTunes App Store has more than 420,000 apps in different categories like: games, productivity, health, education and much more. Only for iPad, which is a fairly new device there are already more than 100,000 different apps.

NPR app for iPad

NPR has updated its iPad app with some interesting new features and options. This app is basically a digital magazine, which reflects mostly the content aired on NPR including US and world news spiced with additions of music and fine arts.

Facebook soon with a music streaming service?

This week Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook announced that Facebook is working on something truly awesome and a lot of tech analysts predicted that this project could be related to music streaming services, especially since Facebook has recently partnered with Spotify. But this turned out not to be so, at least not at this particular moment.

What Facebook revealed was a new video calling feature, based on their partnership with Skype which was in turn bought by Microsoft recently. But when one coder recently downloaded the code for this, he discovered there is an option inside it, called Vibes. So it seems that Facebook still has some intentions and plans towards music sharing services, but now it is not sure will this service come in partnership with Spotify or in some other way.

JailbreakMe will be updated for minor bug

Comex, the jailbreak developer of the famous JailbreakMe jailbreaking solution for iPad 2 and other iOS devices has announced that he will upgrade the jailbreak to solve the camera connection issue. This update should remove the issue appearing when installing some apps and the recently found Camera Connection problem. It is still not completely understandable why the problem is appearing after the jailbreak but the symptom of this problem can be seen if you see the Cydia starting installation but then suddenly disappears.
