Innovative iPhone apps: Roamler

We have seen first steps in potentially crowdsourcing small tasks through iPhone apps. One example could be the Field Agent iPhone app among others. But here is a new twist on this idea. A group of Dutch developers have added an interesting twist to this idea. What they did is that they connected users location to small tasks. Basically this means that some company could use individuals in more or less remote locations for variety of tasks.

iPhone 4 dominates Flickr

iPhone 4 was dubbed as the most widely used camera on the well known photo sharing network Flickr. It has surpassed the second most used camera which is Nikon D-90. This is even more amazing considering that iPhone 4 is available to public for only one year.

And this is not the end of Apple’s glory as the second most used smartphone camera is actually the second Apple device iPhone 3G. Moreover the only smartphone camera on the list of top five that is not an Apple product is the Evo smartphone.

Verizon drops unlimited data in July

 

According to news coming from Verizon, it seems that they have changed their mind regarding the unlimited data plan for new iPhone users starting from July. They plan to introduce more usage oriented model for their users, said Brenda Raney, Verizon’s spokeswoman. More informations for Verizon’s new iPhone users will follow later.

Some blogs have reported on rumors coming from the company that the actual launch of this new strategy for data plans will be on 7th of July.

Expected prices for these new monthly data plans should look like this:

New York post has locked its online edition. Curiously, this decision appears to affect only iPad users as users on desktop computers and non iOS tablets are still able to access New York Post’s content freely. If you point your iPad‘s Safari browser to their website you will be greeted by a message that New York Post is from now available for iPad users only through the New York Post paid app. The same message about the app availability will greet you if you try to access NY Post’s Facebook page.
