iPad 2 jailbreak coming soon?
Despite often occurring rumors and the fact that it is three months since its initial release, iPad 2 is still proving itself as a too hard nut to crack for the jailbreak developers. One of the reason for this could be the specific architecture of the new processor A5 which Apple is using with the new iPad. Apparently, the Limera1n security hole which enabled successful jailbreak on older iDevices powered by A4 processors couldn’t be modified to jailbreak newer systems running on A5 processors.
The famous JailbreakMe jailbreak which exploited the so called userland security hole is also not applicable for this purpose, but now we have some indications that some improvements are possible in this line of development. A famous jailbreak developer named Comex has recently updated his old jailbreak website jailbreakme.com which was used for jailbreaking older devices earlier and so far it seems that he could have some promising things ahead according to the teasers on the website. It is obvious that Comex wants to arouse public interest regarding a possible new unlock with a new version of Jailbreak Me focused particularly on the iPad 2 but applicable on other iOS 5 Apple devices too.
Could the old PDF exploit be a key to unlocking the current champion device of Apple, the iPad 2? Could the last locked fortress of Apple fall? We sure hope so! But we would advise you not to hold your breath as no new info is available from th developers twitter stream regarding the possible jailbreak release. So for now if you are an iPad 2 owner wanting to jailbreak, you’ll have to be patient and hope that Comex and the rest of the jailbreakers are going to provide a nice, reliable jailbreak for us as soon as possible. Until then, stay tuned to our blog and we will keep you informed on this and all other news related to jailbreaking, unlocking and all other Apple related news.
