How to modify the original iPad and use it for calling and texting

If for some reason you need to use your iPad instead of your iPhone you can do that too. Of course you will first have to jailbreak your iPad. An developers group called iPhoneIslam, has developed a way for using iPad as an over-sized iPhone with this jailbreak app. This new app enables users to call, send text messages and use FaceTime for any iPad 3G.

The hack is not released yet as it still needs to be ironed out and it will be named Phone Itipad. Developers intend to release it in Cydia before the upcoming WWDC. This app doesn’t require any hardware change but as we said your iPad needs to be jailbroken before it can get this Cydia app. After you download it from the Cydia App Store you will tap to install it. When you open the app you will see that it looks like an enlarged iphone screen. It still needs some work as the graphics is not completely sorted out but some functions are working flawlessly like for example the SMS function.
