Untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 soon to be available!

Only a couple of days has passed after the well known jailbreak developer Pod2g demoed his first untethered jailbreak of iOS 5. And now he has some new exciting news for jailbreakers around the world! Untethered jailbreak world well for iOS 5.0.1 too! He has tested it initially on his iPod 3G running iOS 5.0, but he wasn’t sure if it would work on iOS 5.0.1. So he decided to continue testing this jailbreak.

Ac1dSn0w a new jailbreak solution for iOS 5 devices

Jailbreak development group known as Pwn Dev Team have just released a new jailbreak solution codenamed Ac1dSn0w. This jailbreak works for following iOS devices:
original iPad
iPod Touch 4G
iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4

One problem associated with this jailbreak solution is that it uses proprietary code owned by Apple which could and probably will cause various problems for people hosting and using the files.
Ac1dSn0w is at the moment in beta version and is available only for Mac computers. The software is developed mainly for use with Lion but it would probably work on Snow Leopard too. The jailbreak is still a tethered one and it offers other features like: exit recovery, tethered boot, Pwned DFU and more.

Jailbroken iOS 5 devices new featuring Siri dictation

Using Siri becomes more and more important as we see a surge of various Siri related hack during last few days. Now the possibility of dictating with Siri while using various apps becomes possible for iOS devices other than iPhone 4S. This was made possible with a new jailbreak app named Siri0us which was just released and based on the so called Nuance Speech Recognition software. Nuance Speech Recognition is the same app Apple uses in iPhone 4S. If you decide you need to use this new jailbreak app you will have to start with a proper jailbreak for your device. Keep in mind that this app is not using Apple’s web servers at all. The whole process relies solely on the Nuance Speech Recognition which uses your devices hardware resources.

iOS 5.0.1 is the latest iOS upgrade released by Apple, and it can now be easily and safely jailbroken with RedSn0w jailbreak tool. Sn0wbreze updated to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 beta

Creator of Sn0wBreeze, iH8Sn0w has again updated his superb jailbreaking solution in order for it to work with the new iOS 5.0.1 beta. This upgrade to the jailbreak will also solve the iBooks bug as well as the iPhone 3GS bug for Location Services.

This version will also do something else important if you are not a developer. It will block the timer and UDID check process which Apple uses to block unauthorized uses of beta iOS versions. This is especially useful if you do not have the Apple developer certification and you want to kep using your iPhone without Apple banning you from doing so. iPad 2 jailbreak proof

iPad 2 which was launched earlier this year has proved itself as a hard nut to crack. It was the device which took longest time to be jailbroken so far. If you are a frequent visitor on our blog you will know that it was first jailbroken back when iOS 4.3.3 was latest iOS version. So far iPad 2 on iOS 5 was not cracked by the jailbreak community. iOS 5 jailbreak now available as a semi tethered solution

If you are a frequent visitor to our blog you will be aware of the fact that iOS 5 jailbreak with RedSn0w or Sn0wbreeze is still a tethered jailbreak, which means that you’ll need to have access to a computer with the jailbreak tool whenever you want to start up your iPhone. While this isn’t a big deal when you are at home, it can become fairly problematic if you travel abroad without access to your usual equipment. And while we have heard many rumors about jailbreak dev community working on the tethered jailbreak for iOS 5, so far this hasn’t become available. Luckily now we have at least a part of the solution. BigBoss has released a semi tethered jailbreak hack for all jailbreakers which really need it. Please note: this is a very limited version of the jailbreak, as it allows you to semi tether without the need to use your computer, but on the down side almost none of the jailbreak apps or tweaks will work after you install this.
