New iPhone App Makes Cash Registers Obsolete?

Are the days of cash registers and debit card machines one App away from going the way of the typewriter? According to the CEO of ‘Tech startup Square’ that may be the case, as the company recently announced their new ‘point of sale’ iPad app, which they hope will forever change the way transactions take place at the retail level. The company, led by one of the founders of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, has created the new iPad app, named Square Register, a new free app, that is intended to speed up the retail check-out process, with an aim to improve communication methods between business owners and customers by offering dynamic features that make the retail experience more interactive.

iPhone Tracker app for Mac: follow your movement on a map

We have written recently on the latest scandal regarding the privacy breach in the iPhone world. As it turned put it seems that your iPhone is tracking your geographical location and is doing so for the last 8 months. All data on your location is being saved ina file named consolidated.db which is located in your iPhone and is synced to your computer whenever you backup your iPhone. This occurrence stared with iOS 4.x but was only recently recovered by some industry experts. It still isn’t clear what is the reason for this tracking and if this is attack on users privacy or simply an bug in the iOS.

But downside of this is that AirPlay will work only with certain apps like Youtube app. But recently some developers have demonstrated their abilty to stream different videos from iPhone to the Apple TV. They claim that it was enough to change a single line of code to make this possible.

The newest tweak coming from a developer nicknamed infectionFX (aka Tyler Nettleton) is a jailbreak app branded as Voice Notifications. This app is designed with the goal to make the iPhone talk to you. With this app when you receive an SMS, call or get an email you will hear a voice notifying you about the event. You can choose and personalize what will the voice say to you. There wont be an icon on your sprinboard for this app. This is so because the developer wanted to preserve the space on your screen for your other, more important apps.
