Apple probably unsuccessful in getting sales ban for Samsung’s modified Galaxy Tab tablet

Samsung vs Apple logo

Apple has slim chances to win injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy tablet in Germany, according to a statement made by a judge in Dusseldorf. The same court has earlier this year blocked Samsung from selling the tablet on the German market. The reason for this decision was the alleged similarity between Galaxy Tab and Apple’s iPad tablet. Later on, Samsung complied with the judge and slightly tweaked their tablet. These small changes helped Samsung to avoid the troublesome ban.

iFaith 1.4.1 launched by iH8Sn0w

iH8Sn0w has again released another upgrade for his iFaith tool. iFaith helps iPhone users to save their iOS 5 devices SHSH blobs, which makes it possible to downgrade the device, if the need ever arise. Usually, downgrading helps users with jailbreaking or unlocking their devices. This is the reason Apple is opposing iOS downgrading as much as possible, and why jailbreak developers and users love to have an option to downgrade the firmware.

Untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4 running on iOS 5.0.1

@Pod2g, the famous iPhone jailbreak developer, has demoed the status of his working jailbreak for iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1. He has filmed a video as a proof of his advanced work on this jailbreak tool. The whole point of this video is probably to convince jailbreak users, that the jailbreak should be available soon. This video is also important as it proves that the jailbreak is indeed working on iPhone 4, instead of it working only on some old iPod models, as some critics claimed. According to Pod2g the final release of the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 is almost finished.

Amazon prevents jailbreaking of Kindle Fire with their latest firmware upgrade

Kindle Fire

It is not only Apple that is not really happy because of users daring to jailbreak their devices. While it is completely legal and safe, if you know what you are doing, Apple, Amazon and other tablet and smartphone makers think they ought to control whatever is going on on your own device. Majority of jailbreak developers and users beg to disagree. It is the same case with the latest newcomer in tablet world: Amazon with their Android tablet, Kindle Fire. Amazon has previously announced that they wont encourage, nor prevent rooting of Kindle Fire, but it seems that they have changed their mind. The latest firmware update released by Amazon is apparently going against users who have already jailbroken their new tablets.

Another step toward iPhone 4S jailbreak finished

The famous jailbreak developer, Pod2G has solved another pressing issue needed for the next, untethered jailbreak for latest iPhone 4S. The problem solved is related to caching issues with iPhone 4S.

As Pod2G said, A5 caching is not a problem anymore. He solved this problem by simply doing an untether within one thread and at the same time flushing the so called D cache and I cache in a row, at the crucial points during the process. It took a great numbers of attempts before he succeeded with this approach and this wasn’t easy at all. Another interesting piece of news is that the founder and owner of Cydia app store, Jay Freeman known better as @Saurik in jailbreak community has helped Pod2G in a important way. Saurik is definitely one of the best iOS developers today. No wonder he is the driving force in the world of iPhone and iPad jailbreaking!

Explosions in Pegatron iPad 2 manufacturing plant

Pegatron explosion

Many rumors have arose this year about less than ideal conditions for workers employed in iPad and iPhone manufacturing factories. Among worse of the stories was the one which speculated about the high suicide rate among Foxconn employees prompting swift measures by Apple and Foxconn itself. Now there is another gruesome story about an incident in Apple producing facilities in mainland China. This time a terrible explosion happened in Pegatron plants which caused injuries of various degrees on more than 60 people, in Shanghai’s industrial park of Songjiang. 23 of those workers have been less fortunate as the injuries were so sever that they had to be hospitalized. Among other electronics, this plant is for manufacturing iPad 2 back panels.

Apple offers a free game download, get Bejeweled for free!

Bejeweled, iPhone game

It seems that somebody in Apple is recently feeling quite generously. Apple was recently giving away a number of free games like the ‘Where is my Water’ game, and now Tim Cook and his team are again feeling generously so they have decided to offer gifts for iPhone and iPad users who ‘like’ Apple’s Facebook page.

If you didn’t play Bejeweled earlier and you think you would enjoy this game, simply visit Apple’s Facebook page and like it. After you ‘Like’ it follow the link ‘Get Your Free App’. The price of Bejeweled is otherwise not too high at $0.99. Still a gift is a gift, and who does nto enjoy in a gift however small it appears to be?
