Is Apple’s Siri assistant a Google killer?

Siri voice assistant

Former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt has said in a public hearing that Siri represents a great development in search and that Google’s core business of internet search could be significantly threatened by Apple’s Siri technology. While such a statement could be dismissed as a overreaction, it is certain that Siri represents something completely new on the market. But nonetheless such a bold statement is questionable especially since Schmidt said it in front of a US Senat commission, probably to decrease the incredible significance and impact Google has over the Internet. Siri indeed could hurt Google’s business as it offers a voice assistance thus circumventing the need for visiting Google’s website with served adds which yield most of the profits for Google.

Apple to unveil Assistant within iOS 5?

Rumors about the big release event for Apple’s new iPhone have never been so interesting and at the same time contradicting as we all expect to see what exactly will Apple release this time. Most users expect to see a new iPhone model, but could it be that a new iPhone model could be only a small issue if compared with something else Apple wants to show us? Apparently a new voice control system should be a part of iOS 5. This new feature, named by some Apple fans as Assistant could introduce a whole new level to what Apple and iPhone is about. It has the potential of changing the way we interact with our iOS devices. First there was a multitouch screen and now there is Assistant, a voice interaction system which could change the world of computing as much as touchscreens did.

iOS 5 feature, whole new level of voice command integration?

iOS 5 coming in June

Another rumor comes out regrading the new Apple endeavours. This time it is about the upcoming and somewhat elusive iOS 5. According to this rumor Siri, which was a small inventive startup which made an fascinating app and was bought out by Cupertino California giant. Siri’s artificial intelligence and assistance technology will be an integral part of the whole iOS 5.

Siri’s app awesomeness comes from the fact that it allows iPhone users to act by using simple voice commands. For example if you want to find out where to have a Chinese dinner close to your office, you just have to ask the question and Siri will find you an answer. Basically Siri is your virtual personal assistant.
