Secret weapon: iPad 2

Singaporean Army plans to equip all new recruits with Apple’s latest model of iPad 2 tablet. According to Indian Times, Headquarters of Singaporean Armed Forces will include iPad 2 into standard equipment of every new soldier. Singaporean Department of Defence expect this move to be well received by well educated and technologically educated young soldiers.

Nobody is sure what happened really with this video as it was uploaded and then removed. Luckily for us, it seems that somebody downloaded the video and later shared it with the Youtube audience. If this is indeed a new version of Skype for iPad it really looks splendid as you can see for yourself in the video bellow. Video calls, Wi-Fi or 3G based calling, whole screen video, impressive graphic resolution, clean user interface and so on. Seems that this time they have made it fabulously, just as the iPad platform deserves. iPad 2 jailbreak coming soon?

Despite often occurring rumors and the fact that it is three months since its initial release, iPad 2 is still proving itself as a too hard nut to crack for the jailbreak developers. One of the reason for this could be the specific architecture of the new processor A5 which Apple is using with the new iPad. Apparently, the Limera1n security hole which enabled successful jailbreak on older iDevices powered by A4 processors couldn’t be modified to jailbreak newer systems running on A5 processors.

Chronic Dev Team soon to release jailbreak for iPad 2 and all other devices!

So again we have excellent news for our readers. This time the good news are coming from the famous Chronic Dev Team. The jailbreak development group has announced on their website that a new jailbreak for iPhone and iPad with iOS 4.3.3 should be soon available. As they said in their announcement on the groups website, Greenpois0n will first jailbreak iPad 2 and then later versions of the tool will work on all other iDevices. Even better, another iPhone hacker, Joshua Hill said that this new jailbreak will work for iOS 4.3.x as well as for later iOS upgrades.

Yahoo has today released an update for their Messenger app for iOS which adds video calling for the new iPad 2 tablet. Now you can use Yahoo Messenger to stay in contact with your friends and family anywhere in the world. You can chat with your contacts no matter if they use a PC, smartphone or iPad. iPad 2 now available in China

iPad 2 (Wi-Fi version) was launched on the Chinese market this Friday and was followed by intense interest by local media and lot of wannabe buyers in front of the Beijing Apple store. The queries were unbelievably crowded although most of the people were probably scalpers. The waiting lines have been formed day before on Thursday evening.

Foxconn employees charged for leaking design details before iPad 2 launch

We have recently heard about a Chinese website reporting on Foxconn pressing charges against a group of their employees for leaking details of the design of recently released iPad 2 tablet. The details caused sitir in Apple as the design was leaked before the official launch of the tablet.

Because of this some retails in China have being able to provide stylized cases for iPad 2 even before the iPad 2 became available to users, which has alarmed the management of Foxconn that someone is leaking informations which prompted them to contact local police force. After a short investigations police was able to identify and arrest few employees which were main suspects in the case. Those employees will be charged for breaching trade secrets laws and could endure significant legal consequences for it if proven guilty.

iPad 2 jailbreak exploit fixed in iOS 4.3.1 upgrade

Apple has unfortunately patched the exploit which was found by Comex for jailbreak on iPad 2. He has recently showcased his Verizon model of iPad 2 with 4.3 firmware jailbroken and with Cydia installed.

Now Comex has said that Apple has fixed this with the 4.3.1 upgrade. Exploit which Comex has utilized for the jailbreak was actually the same as the one which he used for the famous jailbreakme 2. Apparently Apple has missed this hole in the iOS 4.3 but now they have upgraded and plugged this hole. Comex is well known by his previous jailbreak solutions such as Spirit and JailbreakMe.

iPad 2: international launch day on Friday

Since Apple had barely enough iPad 2 tablets to satisfy demand in US alone it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Apple decides to delay the international release of iPad 2.

But to our amazement and surprise, it appears that this will not be the case unlike the international release of the original iPad last year.

In fact Apple has made it well known that the iPad 2 will be available in 25 countries worldwide on this Friday. Other countries like Hong Kong and Singapore will have the new iOS device early next month.
