logo Youtube

You have probably noticed that Youtube app on your iPhone is a bit old, slow and not as good as many other apps which are available and run efficiently and without any problems. Youtube’s web interface for iOS devices is based on HTML 5 and is much more frequently updated and has recently being refreshed with a completely new user interface. This way of accessing all those interesting Youtube videos is comparatively much better than accessing them through your native iOS Youtube app.

iOS controlled ‘Spy Tank’

Here is another cool gadget which is among the very interesting ones, yet slightly useless at least in our opinion. This time it is a gadget made by Brookstone and named more or less appropriately: ‘Spy Tank’.

‘Spy Tank’ is controlled through an iOS app so you can drive the device with your iPhone or iPad. ‘Spy Tank’ will send you back a feed of audio and visual stream. One of the interesting things about this gadget is that it has even night vision capability which makes it even more useful for your potential “spy missions”. Your iPhone or iPad will connect to ‘Spy Tank’ through a Wi-fi connection which gives it a range of 60 meters (200 feets) in a open area or 30 meters (100 feets) if it moves behind obstacles or indoors. The rover is powered by a pack of 6 batteries, which probably won’t last too long.

New iPhone 5 launch event to be held in Apple headquarters in Cupertino

iPhone launch

According to latest iPhone 5 rumors, Apple plans to held the main event in their Cupertino, California campus rather than in YBCA in San Francisco, which was where such events were held traditionally. This rumor is credited to a unnamed source in Cupertino company, which revealed in his leak that Tim Cook,Apple’s new CEO wants to held the big launch in the Cupertino headquarters. If you check Apple’s history you will see that all similar events including the launches of both iPad models as well as all those of all previous iPhone models were held originally in the Bay area. But this time, Apple wants the event to be held closer to its home base. As you probably already know the launch is almost certainly scheduled for Tuesday, October 4th.

Apple logo

It seems that Apple has blacked out all employee vacations for two timetables which could indicate the dates of release for the upcoming iPhone 5 and the new iOS 5. First blackout dates are supposedly from October 9th up to 12th and this will probably be the release date for iOS 5, and is rumored to be held on Monday, since October 12th is Sunday. Another rumor has also pointed out that Apple Care centers have been instructed to prepare for large increase of customer support calls during the same day.

Nissan releases an iOS add campaing for iPhone

We have recently seen some brands taking a huge jump in popularity with viral videos. Like what Old Spice did with their viral add campaign on Youtube. Here is another global brand, this time Nissan, a Japanese car manufacturer takes a turn and creates this rather interesting iOS add using iPhone’s hardware for some great effects. Nissan has created a 360 degree advertizing app to promote their new model, Nissan Versa. This add takes advertising a step further by creating a funny immersive add targeting iPhone enabled youth with their geeky effects. You can change outfit of the people casting in this add, including their shoes, hats and clothes. You can also download a nice song from the “Foster the People’ band and eventually win a free Nissan Versa if you are lucky enough. Well worth the effort if you are interested in this kind of things.

Facebook Timeline

Facebook is changing rapidly in order to overcome competition from Google’s latest service, Google Plus and Twitter along with some other less popular social networks. Facebook’s new concept , the ‘Timeline’ is bigger than the old concept of ‘Profile’ and includes more visual aspects. This space will now be available to every user to change at will and you’ll have to decide on the content which you put in your ‘Timeline’. You will notice at the right hand side on the top of your ‘Timeline’ a large photo. This represents your cover and you can put your preferred photos right there. When a users scrolls down he will see his content including his posts, photos and various events as they happen. A user can freely choose what to feature in his “Timeline’. Isn’t it nice to see a big corporation giving back to the society? We think it is, especially when the company behaving in a such socially responsible manner is Apple, maker of our favorite iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Being the number one in tablet, smartphone and computer world means something, and by acting like this they say clearly that they intend to continue for a long time to be the best company selling revolutionary devices. In fact Apple is giving out these original iPad tablets, which are still among the top tablet devices in the world.
