Amazon to release a new tablet in the third quarter?

We have lately often heard rumors about Jeff Bezoss and his team preparing a launch of a new Android tablet. It could be easily that Amazon is keeping a big secret, extremely well hidden behind the walls of their headquarters. So far no official confirmations have come from Jef Bezzos CEO of Amazon about this, but according to the news from electronics manufacturing strongholds in Taiwan, there is no doubt that Amazon will soon launch a new device to the market, most probably during the third quarter of this year.

Digi Times has covered a story about manufacturing plants in Taiwan which are on the move and preparing resources, personal and equipment as they expect their business to grow dramatically in the next period which is probably related to Amazons tablet plans.

Apparently Amazon expects to sell more than four million new tablets in this year and as a result Amazon has become the second largest customer for tablet hardware lagging only behind Apple with their iPad and iPad 2 tablet. The hardware requested by Amazon points that there will be two models of the device: smaller will have 7 inch display while larger will offer bigger screen with a 10 inch display.

But still there are no more informations regarding the hardware which should boost this tablet to the top of the league. We can only expect it to be at least as good as iPad 2 if not better, if that it possible at all. And still if Amazon succeeds in creating a great tablet, it still has to solve another part of the problem. Where should apps for Android tablets come from?
