iOS 4.3 on iPhone shortens battery life?
We have heard reports from some users that iOS 4.3 brings among other great improvements some issues too. It seems that the battery life decreases significantly after the firmware upgrade. Some iPhone users have reported that batter life in their devices was reduces for almost 20 percent after the upgrade to the new iOS 4.3.
As we wrote previously iOS 4.3 introduces some nice new features including Air Play which can help you to move your video content to your Apple TV, Safari improved with a new Nitro Java Scrip Engine which improves significantly speed of your browser, HotSpot for sharing your iPhones internet connection and even more.
It is not yet known why does the battery life shorten with 4.3. Could it be some bug in the iOS or some other problem? Perhaps the Safari is the reason, as it could be that the Nitro Java Engine simply spends too much energy. Another suspect is the new Apple Ping notification feature which is a continues background process.
Support forums on the Apple website have more than 200 users complaining about similar issues with battery in their iPhones.
One of the measures users can take is to disable the push notification system on the iPhone although this is something which many users wont accept gladly.
Apple has recently released a new upgrade for the Mac OS Safari browser. Probably the iOS version of the same upgrade will also be available soon for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Perhaps Apple will solve the battery life issue in this new upgrade too.
Did you notice any change with your iPhone battery if you have upgraded to 4.3? Let us know in the comments bellow.
