Amazon to release a new tablet in the third quarter?
We have lately often heard rumors about Jeff Bezoss and his team preparing a launch of a new Android tablet. It could be easily that Amazon is keeping a big secret, extremely well hidden behind the walls of their headquarters. So far no official confirmations have come from Jef Bezzos CEO of Amazon about this, but according to the news from electronics manufacturing strongholds in Taiwan, there is no doubt that Amazon will soon launch a new device to the market, most probably during the third quarter of this year.
Amazon working on a new tablet?
When asked by an reporter from Consumer Reports if Amazon is developing a new tablet different from their worldwide successful ebook reader Kindle, Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos has answered without hesitation that customers should stay tuned to new developments coming from Amazon. This is quite unexpected for someone like Jeff Bezos who is as tight with his promises and speculations as Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs is with his hints on new Apple wonders. Recently a lot of online rumors are mentioning Amazon’s plans for expanding their Kindle line of devices. Earlier this year Amazon has offered job opening for programmers targeting mostly developers with impressive Android background. While the details of Amazon’s plans are not known, it seems that most of the pointers indicate that Amazon wants to develop some kind of Kindle tablet running Android OS.
