Could you imagine only a couple of days ago that you could start your car with Siri and your iPhone? It is hard to believe how fast is technology developing these days. It is also interesting how users are tweaking and adjusting already available technologies in creative and unsuspecting ways.
Subscription based iPad games now available
This is the first time Apple decided to allow subscription based games to enter into the app store. The first such pack of games added to app store were games made by Big Fish Games. All games in their pack became available at only $6.99 monthly. This subscription based mode of payment was officially available since last year but this is the first time some company has decided to take this route.
PowderMonkeys, a new iOS game for younger gamers
PowderMonekys is a new game released by XMG Studio compatible with iPad and iPhone and aimed mostly at the younger players. It features a great design, plenty of missions, favourable game mechanics which all combined provide a great gaming experience for the youngsters but also for older generations of players. Sail the high seas, solve mysteries, fight a noble fight with monkey pirates against invading giant bugs? Count us in!
iOSgames: High Flyer Death Defyer
Here is another great iOS game for your iPhone or iPad: High Flyer Death Defyer. This game which comes with a such distinctive name: High Flyer Death Defyer is made by Game Mechanic Studios and offers an interesting new type of play. It is fun to play and at the first glance it looks really great. Basically it is one of those games where your character is flying around with a help of some kind of a jetpac. He has an interesting to jump from strange places and dive into the deep canyons while trying to gather as many points as possible by hitting some score rings.
New Kickstarter funded game “Zombies, Run” for iPhone
Here is another great idea coming from the well known crowdfunding website Kickstarter. This time Kickstasrter is helping in development of a novel new idea: game which is devoted to increasing interest for running. This project has already gathered four time more support than necessary. “Zombies, Run” is basically an adventure game where you need to participate physically if you want to enjoy the game. To do this you will have to run and collect virtual items you need like batteries, weapons, equipment and similar.
A new iOS shooter: Shadowgun
While Shadowgun isn’t a particularly original game it sure offers a lot of fun to iPhone and iPad gamers which are inclined to this genre. Developers of this game have already proven themselves within this genre with a game called Samurai 2: The Vengence. Shadowgun meets exceedingly high criteria at least when it comes to high quality graphic design and is another proof of high quality hardware found on Apple’s iOS devices. The game play reminds strongly on another great shooter: “Gears of War” but improves it and embeds it fabulously into considerably smaller screen environment of iPhone and iPad.
New interactive toys and games for iPad
We cant stop being amazed by cool new ideas for using iPad tablets. This time it is Disney which has introduced a novel way for kids to enjoy playing with iPads and some special toys. iPad will this time serve as a special kind of interactive playing surface. This idea called App Mates will enable kids to play different iPad games like Pixar Cars and others which will follow soon by using real toys on the iPad display.
iOS controlled ‘Spy Tank’
Here is another cool gadget which is among the very interesting ones, yet slightly useless at least in our opinion. This time it is a gadget made by Brookstone and named more or less appropriately: ‘Spy Tank’.
‘Spy Tank’ is controlled through an iOS app so you can drive the device with your iPhone or iPad. ‘Spy Tank’ will send you back a feed of audio and visual stream. One of the interesting things about this gadget is that it has even night vision capability which makes it even more useful for your potential “spy missions”. Your iPhone or iPad will connect to ‘Spy Tank’ through a Wi-fi connection which gives it a range of 60 meters (200 feets) in a open area or 30 meters (100 feets) if it moves behind obstacles or indoors. The rover is powered by a pack of 6 batteries, which probably won’t last too long.
iPhone remote controlled toys: Sphero
If you like great but basically useless gadgets controlled by your iPhone or iPad here is another expensive toy for you. Sphero is an interesting ball which roles around your room controlled by your iPhone or iPad. You can connect to this robotic ball with bluetooth connection. The ball itself can be charged on a stand which powers the device through induction charging.
iPad apps for children: Monster Coloring Book
Here is a new app which can be very useful for your parenting efforts. Monster Coloring Book is an app containing a number of funny looking monsters which can be colored with your finger tips or simply filled by tapping on some part of the monster. You can show your kid how to use a variety of patterns, colors and brushes in most interesting ways. Of course you can also adjust the size of your brush and all creations can be saved in a single gallery. Your kids creations can be later shared, exported or printed on demand. While your kid is drawing it can also listen to some classical music which is available within this app.
