Microsoft plans to open 75 Microsoft Stores

Microsoft obviously feels deeply threatened by everyday advance Apple makes against all its opponents including themselves, once the dominant superpower in the desktop computing world. So Microsoft has decided to reinvent itself and try some Apple style retail and marketing via 75 new Microsoft Stores. Microsoft plans to open these new stores during the next two or three years. There are also plans for such stores in other countries around the world in an effort to enrich the: Microsoft story, which in our opinion reminds somewhat on Apple’s worldwide success story.

Apple’s brave move into retail business a decade ago was one of the main reasons the company didn’t fail completely. Such a strategy boosted Apple’s market capitalization up to an incredible number of $350 billion. Microsoft on the other hand didn’t reveal completely its retail strategy but they have showed the map of its future stores, which should cover most of US in the twenty-four months.

Should Apple start worrying? Sincerely, we don’t think so, as Steve Jobs and his crew already have more than 300 hundred Apple Stores in eleven countries worldwide. It will take years for Microsoft to even come close to this number, and if they ever reach it Apple will already have who knows what kind of innovative advantage.
